A catch-all feature that is activated for a certain mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not actually exist. In other words, if you delete an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any misspelled email address under the very same domain, you’ll get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be vital in case you are running some business, for example. Since you may begin receiving spam, you can combine the catch-all functionality with email filters in order to receive only authentic messages in your inbox. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
Creating a catch-all e-mailbox will be pretty easy in case you have a Linux hosting with our company. You can activate this feature through our powerful, yet intuitive Email Manager tool, which is included in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the account itself. You will see all the mailboxes that you’ve created enumerated in alphabetical order and next to each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly notify you if a certain mailbox gets all the email messages pertaining to a certain domain or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature whenever you like. In case there is activated email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you will get a warning text message from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all option can be activated without any difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll see a mini button conveniently located directly next to each one of them. With just a single mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate this feature using the contextual menu that will show up. If any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
