No Data Corruption & Data Integrity
Find what ‘No Data Corruption & Data Integrity’ means for the data in your hosting account.
Data corruption is the accidental change of a file or the losing of info which often occurs during reading or writing. The reason can be hardware or software failure, and as a result, a file can become partially or completely corrupted, so it will no longer function properly as its bits shall be scrambled or lost. An image file, for instance, will no longer show an actual image, but a random mix of colors, an archive will be impossible to unpack as its content will be unreadable, etcetera. If such an issue occurs and it isn't identified by the system or by an administrator, the data will be corrupted silently and when this happens on a disk drive that is a part of a RAID array where the information is synced between various drives, the corrupted file shall be replicated on all the other drives and the harm will become permanent. Numerous widespread file systems either do not have real-time checks or don't have high quality ones which will detect an issue before the damage is done, so silent data corruption is a rather common matter on internet hosting servers where huge amounts of info are stored.

No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Hosting
We guarantee the integrity of the data uploaded in every
hosting account which is generated on our cloud platform due to the fact that we work with the advanced ZFS file system. The latter is the only one which was designed to prevent silent data corruption via a unique checksum for every single file. We shall store your data on multiple SSD drives that operate in a RAID, so exactly the same files will be accessible on several places at the same time. ZFS checks the digital fingerprint of all files on all the drives in real time and if the checksum of any file is different from what it has to be, the file system replaces that file with an undamaged copy from a different drive in the RAID. No other file system uses checksums, so it's possible for data to become silently corrupted and the bad file to be duplicated on all drives over time, but since that can never happen on a server using ZFS, you do not have to concern yourself with the integrity of your information.

No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Hosting
We've avoided any possibility of files getting damaged silently since the servers where your
semi-dedicated hosting account will be created work with a powerful file system known as ZFS. Its advantage over other file systems is that it uses a unique checksum for each and every file - a digital fingerprint which is checked in real time. Since we keep all content on multiple SSD drives, ZFS checks if the fingerprint of a file on one drive corresponds to the one on the other drives and the one it has stored. When there's a mismatch, the corrupted copy is replaced with a healthy one from one of the other drives and because this happens right away, there's no chance that a damaged copy can remain on our hosting servers or that it could be copied to the other drives in the RAID. None of the other file systems include this type of checks and what is more, even during a file system check following a sudden power loss, none of them will detect silently corrupted files. In comparison, ZFS doesn't crash after a blackout and the continual checksum monitoring makes a time-consuming file system check obsolete.
