Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level extension is the only one planned for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are famous by. At first, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to secure john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered 3rd-level domains remained active.

Through our firm, you can buy your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no special terms on who can acquire a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
